It is very close to the end of the year at uni and everybody is looking forward to the upcoming summer, either they plan to go away somewhere warm to escape the british grey rainy moody days or a long expected internship in London at a fashion/textile design house to gain experience, good luck everyone and have a great summer, hopefully!!. As a textile student in my third year, after the hectic Glasgow School of Art fashion show 2012, that’s us pretty much done except for a technique rotation where we are expected to produce lots of nice textile samples. It is only requires a lot of time and patience to explore the different embroidery stitches and techniques but not as bad as the fashion show where everybody was under pressure to finish a collection especially when we would all like our work to be great since that was our first EVER fashion collection. Anyway, today there were lots of nice embroidery samples brought in to inspire us, my fav is this little quilted eye mask, the minute I saw it, I could not wait to give it a go. It is always worth the while to look at everything in a light jokey way instead of being to tense and serious.
