A peek of the Glasgow School of Art textiles degree show 2012
Another year of the Glasgow School of Art textiles degree show and there are plenty of innovative ideas of textiles by the freshest designers to inspire us. All the fourth year students working on an open concept to explore their individual vision of different specialisms: embroidery, knit, weave and print. There are vibrant and fun block printed fabrics guaranteed to cheer you up, animal bone structure inspired embroidery made of laser cut wood and perspex, Thai folk culture inspired beading, appliqué embroidery techniques used on a vibrant colour palette to create interesting textures, traditionally soft knitted fabrics with perspex insert in to create structured interior storing spaces, softest pretty pastel coloured chiifon hand embroidery just so adorable and makes your heart melt. There are lots of interesting unusual media being explored and ways of manipulating fabric to push the boundaries of textile design within fashion and interior. Here is some eye candy to please you.
